The Recovery Career Compass

The platform where the doing happens.

Ten structured tools that walk you through the specific decisions the book sits next to. Each one keyed to chapters. Each one produces a one-page artifact you can take into a sponsor, counselor, or coach conversation.

The book teaches the framework. The Compass is where you do the work the framework points at. The tools are structured, named, and scoped. Not endless features. Just what a person in recovery actually needs to act on what the book has you looking at.

Three ways in:

  • Direct subscription — $79/year. Continuous access, re-assessment over time, expanded library, audio versions as they roll out. Cancel any time.
  • Book buyers — purchase the book ($14.99) and receive a discount code that drops the first year of platform access from $79 to $49. The book and the subscription are separate products; the code is the loyalty discount.
  • IHC program participants — free annual access via codes distributed by Invest Hamilton County program staff.

What follows is the full set of tools live at launch. Additional tools are in development; they’ll ship as they’re ready.

The tools.

Readiness Assessment

A.1

Chapter 2 — Going Back vs. Starting Over

Chapter 2 — Going Back vs. Starting Over

Draft a one-paragraph personal mission statement. Not a personality test. The door is not the test; the mission is the test.

You get: One-paragraph mission statement (PDF)

WOOP Goal Builder

A.2

Chapter 10 — Goals and Gratitude

Wish · Outcome · Obstacle · Plan. The strongest evidence-based goal-setting method available, made usable for one career-related goal at a time. Includes a five-minute pre-flow that surfaces the real goal underneath the one you first name.

You get: WOOP plan with if-then implementation intention (PDF)

Show Up Whole

A.6

Companion to Chapter 6 — The Interview (platform-original)

An evidence-based methodology for describing yourself as a whole person in interviews — values, hobbies, responsibilities, passions — in a way that helps the interviewer see how you'll work. Four-part frame: Mirror · Bridge · Story · Boundary. You are not your resume.

You get: Personal values map + three drafted whole-person answers (PDF)

Active Job Search Builder

A.10

Chapter 5 + Chapter 6

Five-session walkthrough of the active job search over ~5 weeks. Target list, application tailoring, outreach, interview rehearsal, setback recovery.

You get: Personal Job-Search Plan (PDF)

First 90 Days Companion

A.11

Chapter 8 — Doing MY Job

Three-phase guided journal: orientation (days 1–14), integration (15–45), consolidation (46–90). Protect recovery practice while learning the work.

You get: Personal First-90 Plan (PDF)

Career Story Builder

A.12

Chapter 2 + Chapter 5

Narrative tool. The redemption-script work applied to career — who I was at work, who I am becoming. Forward-pairs with mission; backward-integrates the past.

You get: One-page Career Story (PDF)

Workplace Resilience Companion

A.13

Chapter 4 + Chapter 8

Five workplace situations recovery-population workers find disproportionately destabilizing — and a 3-minute desk practice for each. Not stress-reduction therapy. Recovery principles applied to the eight hours.

You get: Personal Resilience Notebook (PDF)

Weekly Practice Planner

A.14

Chapter 10 — Goals and Gratitude

Sunday-night planning view + daily morning view + Friday-evening review. Decompose your WOOP into the cadence the work actually lives at.

You get: Weekly Practice Plan (PDF)

Action Plan Builder

A.4

All chapters

End-of-book exercise. Pulls your work across the other apps into one 1–3 page plan you take into a sponsor, counselor, or coach conversation.

You get: Personal Action Plan (PDF)

Privacy posture.

The platform’s default is zero-retention beyond what you save. Free-text responses live in your account; nothing is shared with employers, insurers, courts, or any other organization without your explicit choice. The save-artifact flow generates a PDF you download to your device.

No tracking pixels. No ad networks. No third-party cookies. Cookieless analytics (Plausible) only. The audience is in recovery; the privacy floor reflects that.
